The Dog Spaw was having almost daily calls requesting boarding services, which we were not set up for at the time. As more and more requests came in, it became apparent that expanding and adding boarding services could be a great asset to the area. Plans were drawn up in Winter of 2018 and construction started in the Spring and the first boarders came in for that Memorial Day weekend. The boarding facility features 16 spacious kennel runs (ranging in size from 5’x5’ up to 10’x10’) all equipped with their own automatic waterers, a cot for the guests and floor drains to allow for sufficient sanitization. For extreme temperatures, the kennel area has its own HVAC systems and can be heated or cooled to keep the guests comfortable during their stay. The facility also features an acre of fenced in grass area for leash free outside playtime for the guests during their let-out times. Videos are posted on The Dog Spaw’s Facebook page periodically so owners can see their pups playing while they are out of town. In addition to Stephanie, the kennel also employs 3 other part time staff to help with the work load that goes along with the boarding business.
